Ohana 2026: Pearl Jam Concert Art, on a Skate Deck

A sand dragon plays guitar on this Pearl Jam skate deck from Ohana Festival. Bearing the festival’s name, the deck brings concert art onto a board—a keepsake of that Ohana weekend.

Both sides of a Pearl Jam skate deck on a blue background. Left, the illustrated side: a sand-colored dragon playing a guitar, coiled around a beach sandcastle, above Doheny State Beach in small orange letters and PEARL JAM in large blue ones. Right, the blue-stained side with a small white OHANA FESTIVAL print and PEARL JAM.

A concert souvenir can be a record of one night or a piece of art, and the best are both. A skate deck makes an unusual canvas for that double job: long and narrow, rounded at both ends, and, on the Pearl Jam boards looked at here, printed on both sides. Where a poster gives an artist one flat face, these decks give two: one carries the full graphic, and the other little more than the band's name and where it played. To our eyes, that's the appeal of a concert deck. None of the sources checked for this piece say who drew the board at the top of this page or who made it, so this piece starts with what can be checked: the band's records for the weekend, the board itself, the Pearl Jam decks that came before it, and what to ask before buying one.

The Weekend on Record

The tenth Ohana Festival ran from September 25 to 27, 2026, at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California. Pearl Jam's own tour history lists two shows there: Friday, September 25, and Sunday, September 27. On May 12, Pearl Jam announced the 2026 bill, led by the band, Eddie Vedder & Friends, and Tyler Childers, with Maná, Alabama Shakes, Fontaines D.C., Billy Idol, Pixies, and many more. The same announcement noted that Pollstar has named Ohana its Music Festival of the Year, among festivals worldwide with attendance under 30,000, four times, most recently in 2026.

The band's tour history also keeps each night's set list. Friday opened with "Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town" and closed with "Baba O'Riley"; Sunday opened with "The Long Road" and ended with "Yellow Ledbetter."

The band's records for those two nights each credit a poster. The Friday poster, credited to Steven Kean, shows a huge wave curling over a palm-lined shore under a red-and-orange sky, with Eddie Vedder & Friends lettered large across the foot above the festival, the beach, Dana Point, and the date. Pearl Jam's May 12 announcement billed Eddie Vedder & Friends alongside the band, and the band's own history counts that Friday as a Pearl Jam show. The Sunday poster, credited to Max Löffler, puts PEARL JAM in arched letters over a robot figure in a green bucket hat and a red flowered shirt, with a surfboard standing behind it, palms and a sunset around it, and the date, the festival, and Dana Point along the bottom. Löffler's portfolio also lists a 2022 Pearl Jam gig poster for Frankfurt.

Neither record carries an entry for a skate deck. The band's store began selling the Sunday poster on September 30, 2026, yet as of October 1, it listed no Pearl Jam deck from the weekend, and neither did the festival's official merchandise store. Because a poster credit is not a deck credit, this article does not assign either poster artist to a board, including the one pictured above.

The Board

With no deck in those records, the object has to speak for itself. The board at the top of this page, pictured from both sides, carries three names: the band's, the festival's, and the beach's.

The Illustrated Side

One side is a beach scene. A horned, winged dragon that looks sculpted from sand plays a guitar, its body coiled around a sandcastle whose staircase climbs to an arched gate. A small bird perched on its head sings out a trail of musical notes, and behind them a dolphin leaps from waves rolling in under a blue sky with clouds. Pails, shovels, starfish, and shells lie scattered in the sand. The drawing keeps to a narrow palette of sand, sky blue, and white, with dark, finely hatched linework that looks like pen and ink. At the foot, PEARL JAM stands in large blue block letters, with Doheny State Beach in small lettering above it and, above that, a still smaller line that cannot be read in this photograph.

The Blue-Stained Side

The other side is blue-stained wood, bare except for a small printed panel: OHANA FESTIVAL over a framed scene of a dolphin leaping in front of a cloud above rolling waves, with PEARL JAM beneath. The panel's leaping dolphin repeats the one on the illustrated side, so the two faces share a motif.

At this photograph's size, neither side shows a readable date, signature, maker's mark, or edition number. The 2026 date attached to the board comes only from a resale seller's listing title, not from the band, the festival, or anything printed on the board; see Buying One.

Why a Board Suits Ohana

Whatever its origin, a skate deck suits this festival well. Ohana, which Eddie Vedder founded in 2016, gives art its own place on the festival grounds. Pearl Jam's May 12 announcement of the 2026 festival described The Cove, an area that brings the festival's pillars to life, including Art. The announcement also pointed fans to The Cove Gallery, which would show and sell hundreds of artworks curated around "the interlacing of music, street and board culture." Proceeds from the gallery, it added, would go to Ohana's nonprofit partners through the Vitalogy Foundation.

The festival's list of 2026 speakers carried the same thread. One was Jeff Ament, Pearl Jam's bassist and one of its founders, whom the festival's biography calls "a lifelong skateboarder." In June 2025, the band's site reported that Montana Pool Service, which he founded, had organized and contributed to more than 40 skateparks across Montana and the Dakotas, in rural towns and Native communities. The festival's biography also notes his two Grammy Awards for Best Recording Package, for his visual art and design work. The same biography adds that P.E.S.T., a band he founded and plays bass in, was also on that year's Ohana bill. Another was his brother, Barry Ament, who co-founded Ames Bros, a design studio in Seattle. In the early 1990s, his festival biography says, he became Pearl Jam's in-house designer, making everything from concert posters and album packaging to tube socks and T-shirts. Ames Bros has since made more than 500 concert posters, both for Pearl Jam and for other acts. The brothers' partnership is older still: as boys, the biography adds, they drew together and built skate ramps. A third was Atiba Jefferson, a photographer whose skateboarding pictures have run in international publications and who is on the editorial staff of Thrasher.

Put together, a board is a fitting shape for Ohana concert art: the festival sets music beside street and board culture, and its gallery sells art along those lines. Its speaker list made the same point: a founding member of one of the bands leading the lineup, a lifelong skateboarder, and a designer, beside the brother he grew up drawing and building ramps with, who went on to design for the band. The band's own records add a concert-art history: each of its earlier Ohana nights credits a poster artist, as the list further down shows.

Pearl Jam Concert Decks, Each With Its Date

Pearl Jam concert art had gone onto decks before 2026, and the earlier boards in this article took three different routes. One was an event deck that the band's store auctioned for the Vitalogy Foundation, nearly two years after the night it marks. Another was an artist's signed and numbered edition of five, sold through a shop. The third was a set of blank decks that artists turned into one-of-a-kind works for a benefit auction, with no concert attached. Knowing which route a board took tells you who issued it, whether it was numbered, and whether it was ever a concert item in the first place.

Missoula, August 22, 2024

In August 2026, the band's online store auctioned an event skate deck for Pearl Jam's show at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula on August 22, 2024, with proceeds to the Vitalogy Foundation. The auction ran from August 14 to August 21, 2026, nearly two years after the show, and has closed, though the store's page for it was still up on September 30, marked sold out. The store describes it as an 8.5-inch deck. The store names it as it names the show's poster, by year, city, and date, and an event poster for the same Missoula night sits in the same catalog. In the store's photographs, one side shows a bear in yellow and orange with heavy black outlines, its teeth bared and flames at its feet, under wavy PEARL JAM lettering, with the date, the city, and the stadium lettered below; the other side is blue-stained wood with a small orange stamp giving the band, the date, and Missoula. The listing names no artist, so neither do we.

Boston, September 15 and 17, 2024

For Pearl Jam's two nights at Fenway Park in Boston, on September 15 and 17, 2024, the artist Ian Williams offered a deck through the shop Conflux Co. The shop described it as a skate deck printed top and bottom on maple, measuring 32.25 inches long by 8.25 inches wide, signed and numbered by the artist, in a limited edition of 5, and printed in the USA. The page also limited it to one per household and shipped only within the continental United States. That page is no longer live; its description survives in the Internet Archive's copy from November 6, 2024, which shows the deck as sold out. In the shop's product rendering, BOSTON fills one side in huge letters packed with yellow-and-black collage imagery, with PEARL JAM in yellow; the other side is yellow-stained wood lettered with the band's name, Fenway and Boston, and both dates.

Middle of Nowhere, 2025

Montana Pool Service has also treated the blank deck as a canvas. In June 2025, Pearl Jam's site announced Middle of Nowhere, a benefit for which Montana Pool Service sent out 100 skateboard decks to be made into one-of-a-kind works, auctioned through the Ten Club Shop to build a skatepark on Salish Kootenai land. The decks went to artists and friends as far away as Japan, Argentina, Thailand, England, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, as well as across the United States. The post said the finished boards were on display at the Adler/Smith Gallery in Los Angeles through July 14, 2025, with the auction open until July 12. Those were single original boards, not concert decks, and they belong in their own category.

Earlier Ohana Nights

One more set of dates matters for Ohana in particular: the band's earlier nights at the festival, each with a poster credited in its records. The tour history credits Raymond Pettibon for September 26, 2021; Meggs for October 1, 2021, and Ames Bros for October 2, 2021 (the two nights of the festival's Encore Weekend); and Terry Urban for September 27, 2024, and Richey Beckett for September 29, 2024. Those are poster credits, not deck credits. Anything dated to one of those nights belongs to its own year, not to 2026.

Buying One

If a board like this one tempts you, start with the listing that dates it, then the checks that apply to any concert deck.

The Listing

On September 30, 2026, an active eBay listing (item 267796523981) offered a blue skate deck lettered with Pearl Jam and Ohana Festival. The seller's title calls it an "OFFICIAL Pearl Jam Ohana Fest 9/27/2026 Concert Event Skateboard Deck," which would place it at the Sunday show; the official status and the date are the seller's words, and this article has not confirmed them. The listing's own photograph, as viewed that day, shows both sides of the deck for sale. In a small thumbnail of it captured later that day, the deck has the same two-sided layout and colors as the board pictured at the top of this page, though at that size its lettering and figures cannot be made out. It was not the only one: a check of eBay's current listings later that day found at least eight offering a deck of the same blue design.

Who drew the board, who made it, how many were made, how large it is, and how it was sold are not established: not by the photograph, not by the listing as viewed, and not by the band's or the festival's pages. The 2026 date, too, rests on the seller's title.

Before You Buy

Start with the date. For 2026, the band's records list two Pearl Jam nights, September 25 and September 27, and the Friday poster carries the Eddie Vedder & Friends name, so check which date and which name a board actually carries. The eBay listing above dates its deck to September 27 in its title; no date is readable on the board in this page's photograph, so ask for a close, sharp photograph of any small print. On this design, that means the fine line above Doheny State Beach at the foot of the illustrated side, the one line of print that this page's photograph cannot resolve.

Close-up of the foot of the deck's illustrated side: small orange lettering reading Doheny State Beach, with a fainter line of print above it, over PEARL JAM in large blue block letters, with shells and starfish in the sand.
The foot of the illustrated side: Doheny State Beach above PEARL JAM, and a fainter line of print that cannot be read at this size.

Then the edition. A limited run is the artist's or the maker's statement to make, and the Boston deck shows what a clear one looks like: its page gave the edition size and said each board was signed and numbered. If a seller gives an edition size or a number, ask where it comes from, and look for it on the board itself. The same goes for a word like official, which that listing's title uses: ask what it rests on.

Ask for photographs of both sides. Where several listings show the same design, compare their photographs side by side. For this design, check the framed OHANA FESTIVAL panel with PEARL JAM beneath it on the blue-stained side, and the lettering at the foot of the illustrated side. On the concert decks in this article, one side carries the full graphic and the other little more than the band's name and where it played, so a listing that shows only one side leaves half the object unseen. Ask about the edges, the ends, and the surface; whether the deck has ever been ridden or had hardware fitted; and what comes with it, from packaging to any paperwork.

An asking price is what a seller hopes for, not what a board has sold for. That listing also accepted offers when we viewed it. Before comparing one board with another, add shipping, tax, and any return costs, and read the return terms before you pay. A deck travels as a long, flat parcel, so ask how it will be packed. And keep one more distinction straight: the May 12 announcement's line about proceeds covers sales in The Cove Gallery, and says nothing about boards resold afterward.

On the Wall, and What Comes Next

Whether a deck goes on a wall or under a rider is up to its owner. Display and mounting deserve their own guide, with sources behind each recommendation, rather than a few guesses here. The wider story of Pearl Jam concert decks, and of Ohana decks across the years, is best told the same way: one verified board at a time.

If you own one of these boards, we would like to see it: tell us any date it carries, where and when you got it, whose name is on it, and what came with it; and show us both sides, small print included. Details like yours could help establish what this article cannot yet say: who drew the board, who made it, how many were made, and how they were sold.
