The Stage Diving Olympics
Both documents put five hundred people in the Melkweg and tell the same night of stage diving, Mike lifted onto the singer's shoulders and a closing song of more than ten minutes. Only the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology names an opening act, and the chronology hangs a stage set list under this date: ten titles with a word written beside each.

On Wednesday, February 12, 1992, Pearl Jam played the Melkweg in Amsterdam, and both documents put the attendance at 500. The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology names The Covenant as the opening act; Five Horizons names none, and gives the show seventy minutes. Their notes tell one night in nearly the same words: stage diving out of control, a call for Chris Cornell that went unanswered, Jeff jumping into the pit on the last notes of "Porch," and a closing "I've Got a Feeling" of more than ten minutes. The chronology also hangs a stage set list under this date, and it has been opened here.
The show
Five Hundred in Both
The two documents agree on the room and the figure, the Melkweg and 500, and neither marks the night sold out. They write the country differently, Netherlands in the chronology and Holland in Five Horizons. The chronology's opening act, The Covenant, has no counterpart in Five Horizons, which names no opening act at all; that is an absence in one document, not a disagreement between two.
The Performance
Both documents list "Wash," "Once," "Even Flow," "State of Love and Trust," "Alive," "Black," "Deep," "Jeremy," "Why Go" and "Porch," with "I've Got a Feeling" as the encore. Before "Porch" the chronology prints "(Bad Mouth)" and Five Horizons prints "Bad Mouth improv," joined to "Porch" by a slash; the chronology says the singer sang a few lines of Fugazi's "Bad Mouth" there, and Five Horizons says the improvisation was based on a few lines from the beginning of it and prints them. The two notes run in parallel: stage diving out of control, with the singer asking "So who taught this guy to stage dive feet first?" and "Is this the stage diving Olympics or something?"; Mike lifted onto his shoulders during "Alive"; Chris Cornell asked for after "Deep," and not appearing.
On the final notes of "Porch" the singer fell into the crowd and, in what both call an unusual move, Jeff jumped into the pit. Toward the end of "I've Got a Feeling," both say, the singer helped Dave out on drums, in a version both call extended and more than ten minutes long, and both say part of the show went out on radio. The chronology alone says that at the end of "Black" he quietly sang a line for the first time, and quotes it; Five Horizons does not mention it.
The Next Step
The night before, at La Locomotive, is told in Not From Seattle. Both documents put the next show in Madrid on February 15; it is told in Sold Out, or Room for Nine Hundred.
Recording & sound
What the Record Preserves
Fourteen objects hang under this date on the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's page: a stage set list, eleven photographs and a recording-series pair. The set list has been opened here: a single torn sheet with ten titles from "Wash" to "Porch," several in short forms, and a word written beside each, FAST or SLOW for most, SLOW/FAST beside "Wash" and ANTH'EM beside "Alive." The same inscription, without the tempo words, hangs under Madrid three nights later, so nothing on the sheet ties it to one night. The other objects have been read here too, except the archive; nothing is said about what the photographs show, and no person's name is taken from a markup title.
