A Break Before Suggestion
The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology puts 1 450 in the Glenn Miller Ballroom and Five Horizons 1,450, neither marking the night sold out, and Five Horizons brackets 90m after its heading without stating what it measures. The chronology splits the night's songs into a set and an encore where Five Horizons prints one line in the same order, and the house's remaster series file lists a labelled break where the chronology's encore begins.

On Tuesday, May 5, 1992, Pearl Jam played the Glenn Miller Ballroom at the University of Colorado in Boulder, which both chronologies head by that name. The chronology's attendance line reads 1 450 and Five Horizons' 1,450, one figure printed two ways, and neither chronology marks the night sold out. Of the two chronologies, only the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology names an opening act, Tribe After Tribe; Five Horizons' entry and the house's three text files name none. Both print a soundcheck of "Even Flow" and "Release." Five Horizons brackets 90m after its heading without stating what it measures, and the house's information file repeats it in its own heading. Neither chronology prints a note for the night.
The show
A Ballroom at the University of Colorado
Five objects hang under this date on the chronology's page: an image whose markup title is Ad, one titled Setlist, a ticket, and two untitled links into the chronology's remaster series, a zip and a text file. The chronology's entry ends with a remaster series line that names the band, the date and the city, with an info-file. Neither chronology, nor any of the house's three text files, prints a capacity for the room.
The Performance
Both documents run "Oceans," "Even Flow," "Why Go," "Jeremy," "Deep," "Alive," "Black" and "State of Love and Trust," then an improvisation and "Once," a second improvisation and "Porch," and close with "Suggestion," "Garden," "Leash" and "Rockin' in the Free World." The chronology sets the last four apart as an encore and prints "Suggestion" in parentheses; Five Horizons prints one line with no encore division and "Suggestion" plain. Where the chronology prints Improv between "State of Love and Trust" and "Once," Five Horizons prints a parenthesised label joined to "Once" by a slash, and where the chronology lists its second Improv and "Porch" as two entries, Five Horizons joins them as Improv/Porch.
The Next Step
Omaha, two nights before, is told in Talk of Carrots at the Ranch Bowl. Bozeman, two nights later, at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds, which Five Horizons heads Gallitan Fairgrounds, is told in Two Guitars Into the Crowd.

What the Record Preserves
The house holds three text files for the night: a ConcertInfo information file, a remaster series file and its fingerprint list. The information file's heading is Five Horizons' heading, bracketed 90m included, one source with it, and it lists fourteen numbered items in Five Horizons' order, with the same parenthesised label joined to "Once," Improv joined to "Porch," and the last song given by its initials. It says the recording is complete when measured against Five Horizons' setlist and information, a claim about the recording, not the concert, so its agreement with Five Horizons adds no second witness. It dates the concert's digitizing and clean-up to October 31, 1999. The remaster series file names the band, the date and the room; its source line runs from an AKG C460b through a Grace pre-amp and a Casio DA-7 to DAT, dEQ and FLAC, its lineage line from FLAC through WAV and dEQ to FLAC, and its notes report volume fluctuations levelled, equalisation for tonal balance, loud claps taken out and the volume raised. It lists eighteen tracks, an opening track labelled as an introduction, the songs in the order both chronologies give with two numbered improvisation tracks, and a labelled break between "Porch" and "Suggestion," where the chronology begins its encore; it dates its compilation January 2023 and credits a compiler. The fingerprint file beside it lists eighteen FLAC files named as those tracks are. Neither of those two files times the recording or calls it complete, and none of the house's three files says whether the 1999 digitizing and the 2023 compilation share a source. Boulder comes down to one attendance printed two ways, an opening act that of the two chronologies only the first names, a shared soundcheck, a 90m that Five Horizons brackets without saying what it measures, one order of songs with an encore marked in one chronology and not the other, and a remaster series file with a labelled break where that encore begins.
