A Camera Crane During Porch
The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology prints 55 300, marked sold out, and Five Horizons 60,000 for the Pinkpop Festival, and both notes call the crowd the band's largest live audience yet and say the show went out on Dutch television. Both notes name a Beatles tune and a Talking Heads cover in the set, and of the two notes only the chronology's puts the singer on a camera crane during "Porch."

On Monday, June 8, 1992, Pearl Jam played the Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands, which the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology places at Megaland; Five Horizons names no venue apart from the festival. The two chronologies print different attendances, the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology 55 300, marked sold out, and Five Horizons 60,000, and both notes call the crowd the band's largest live audience yet. Five Horizons brackets 45m after its heading without stating what it measures. Both notes report a Dutch television broadcast of the show, name a Beatles tune and a Talking Heads cover in the set, and say another performer also played the festival. Of the two notes, only the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's has the singer climb onto a camera crane during "Porch" and dive into the crowd.
The show
Landgraaf or Geleen
The chronology heads the night Megaland, Landgraaf, Netherlands, with the Pinkpop Festival in parentheses, and Five Horizons makes Pinkpop Festival its heading, in Landgraaf, Netherlands; the house's information file heads it Pink Pop Festival, in Geleen, Holland, and no place is settled against another. Five Horizons prints a support act line naming Eleven, and the chronology prints no act line; neither chronology, nor the house's file, gives Pearl Jam's place on the bill or names a headliner. The chronology's entry ends with a remaster series line that names the band, the date and Pink Pop, with an info-file. Thirty-seven objects hang with the night's entry on the chronology's page: an image whose markup title is Poster; one titled Program; one whose markup title reads Ticket before a credit; thirty-two images whose markup titles name the singer alone in twenty-six, all but two of them before a credit, and the band in six, each before a credit; and two untitled links into the chronology's remaster series, a zip and a text file.
The Performance
Both chronologies run "Even Flow," "Why Go," "Rain," "Jeremy," "Deep," "Alive," "Black," "Leash," "Once," "Porch," "Suggestion," "Pulled Up" and "Rockin' in the Free World," and neither prints an encore line. The chronology prints "Rain" in parentheses as an entry of its own, where Five Horizons puts it in parentheses joined to "Jeremy" by a slash. The chronology also sets "Suggestion" and "Pulled Up" each in parentheses, joined by a slash, where Five Horizons prints the pair plain with the same slash, and neither says what its marking means. Both notes call "Rain" a Beatles tune and "Pulled Up" a cover of a Talking Heads song, perhaps a small tribute to another performer at the festival. Five Horizons' note also praises that night's "Alive" and "Rockin' in the Free World," which it gives by its initials. The chronology's note adds that during "Porch" the singer climbed onto a camera crane and then dived into the crowd, calls the show legendary and suggests it may be the Pearl Jam show most watched on YouTube.
The Next Step
London, two nights before, is told in Taken for a Stage-Diver. Both chronologies put the next show two nights later, on June 10, at the Kongresszentrum in Stuttgart; it is told in Release at the Start.
Recording & sound
What the Record Preserves
The house holds one text file for the night, a ConcertInfo information file whose note is Five Horizons' note, one source with it, and whose heading brackets no figure. It lists ten numbered tracks, the songs of both lists in the same order but for "Rain," "Suggestion" and "Pulled Up," with "Rockin' in the Free World" given by its initials. It says the recording is complete when measured against Five Horizons' setlist and information, a claim about the recording, not the concert. It dates the concert's digitizing and clean-up to May 27, 1999; it gives no taping source, equipment, generation or lineage. Landgraaf comes down to one festival headed three ways, two attendances, one in each chronology, a 45m that Five Horizons brackets without saying what it measures, thirteen songs both lists give in one order and mark differently, a Talking Heads cover both notes tentatively tie to another performer at the festival, a camera crane in the first chronology's note, and an information file with no track for three of the songs.
