A Heading and a Hyphen
Five objects hang with the night on the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's page, among them images whose markup titles are Ad and Backstage pass, yet neither chronology names a song for the night. Both chronologies head the following night, August 1, at the same theatre.

On Friday, July 31, 1992, Pearl Jam played the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, which both chronologies head by that name, at a festival the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology calls the Lollapalooza Festival and Five Horizons Lollapalooza. Of the two chronologies, only the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology prints an attendance, 15 253, which it marks sold out, and a note, which says the show took 22 minutes to sell out. Its setlist line holds a single hyphen, which it does not explain, and Five Horizons prints nothing for the night beyond its heading, so neither chronology names a song.
The show
The Pine Knob Music Theatre
Both chronologies name the venue Pine Knob Music Theatre and the city Clarkston, MI, the chronology ending its heading with Lollapalooza Festival in parentheses and Five Horizons ending its own with Lollapalooza, also in parentheses. The chronology's entry is four lines: the heading, an attendance line reading 15 253 (sold out), a setlist line holding a hyphen, and a one-sentence note on the sell-out. Five Horizons prints no attendance, set or note line under its heading and brackets no figure after it. Neither entry names another act or prints an act line, a soundcheck, a capacity or a show time.
The Performance
Neither chronology gives a set list for the night: the chronology's setlist line is a hyphen, and Five Horizons prints no set line. Neither says anything of the performance itself, the chronology's one note being about how quickly the show sold out and Five Horizons printing no note.
The Next Step
Cleveland, two nights before, is told in Mudslides on the Lawn; neither chronology prints a heading for July 30. Both chronologies put the next show the following night, August 1, again at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston.
Recording & sound
What the Record Preserves
Five objects hang with the night's entry on the chronology's page: an image whose markup title is Ad, its file name giving the venue and the year but no day; an untitled PDF whose file name reads review and an untitled image named the same; an image whose markup title is Backstage pass; and an image whose markup title names Eddie Vedder before a credit. The name in that last title is the chronology's identification, not a caption. The chronology's entry has no remaster series line, and none of the five objects links into that series. Clarkston comes down to one venue both chronologies name alike, a festival each names its own way, an attendance of 15 253 marked sold out and a 22-minute sell-out that of the two chronologies only the first records, no song in either, and five objects under the date.
