A Fast Wash on New Year's Eve
Both notes say CBS's broadcast for New Year's Eve included "Sonic Reducer" in a short clip, and that the singer and Mike, somewhat reluctantly, joined Keith for "Goin' Down," his encore song. Of the two chronologies, only Five Horizons prints the Winos' full list of nineteen titles, and it gives an attendance of 5,000 where the chronology prints 2 000 and a sold-out mark.

On Thursday, December 31, 1992, Pearl Jam played The Academy, which both chronologies head by that name, the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology in New York City and Five Horizons in New York. The chronology's attendance line reads 2 000 (sold out) and Five Horizons' 5,000, two different figures, and both print a supporting line naming Keith Richards along with The X-pensive Winos. Both lists run the same eleven songs, "Wash" to "Leash," and end on "Porch," each marking what comes between in its own way. Of the two chronologies, only the first says that the show took two minutes to sell out, and both notes single out a fast "Wash" and a rare "Dirty Frank."
The show
The Academy
Both chronologies name the venue The Academy, placing it in New York City, NY, in the chronology's heading and in New York, NY, in Five Horizons'. Five Horizons brackets 55m after its heading without stating what it measures. Both print the same supporting line, and neither chronology prints an opening act, a capacity or a show time.
The Performance
Both chronologies run "Wash," "Sonic Reducer," "Why Go," "Even Flow," "Alone," "Garden," "Daughter," "Dirty Frank," "Oceans," "Alive" and "Leash," with no encore line; the chronology then prints "Stranglehold" in parentheses as an entry of its own and "Porch" after it, and Five Horizons adds the word jam to "Stranglehold" and joins it to "Porch" with a slash. Neither chronology says what the parentheses or the slash mean. Both notes call this "Wash" a fast version, and an unusual one, and say CBS's broadcast for New Year's Eve included "Sonic Reducer" in a short clip. A parenthesis in both says one cameraman, camera and all, nearly took an unintentional stagedive. Of the two notes, only the chronology's quotes the singer introducing "Daughter," adding in a parenthesis that the song's original title was "Brother," though another song of theirs already bore that name. Both notes also quote words of thanks from the singer. Both call "Dirty Frank" rare and say it had never before been played in full at a show. Both name "Stranglehold" as a song by Ted Nugent and quote a remark Mike made after the jam. Both then have Mike and the singer join Keith, somewhat reluctantly, for "Goin' Down," his encore song. Of the two chronologies, only Five Horizons adds a bracketed note giving what it calls the full Winos setlist, nineteen titles ending with "Goin' Down," which it marks as with Robert Cray and PJ members.
The Next Step
Mountain View, sixty days before, is told in Acoustic for the Bridge School; neither chronology prints a heading between that night and this one. The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's next heading is May 13, 1993, at Slim's in San Francisco, and Five Horizons' is January 12, 1993, at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

What the Record Preserves
Thirteen objects hang with the night's entry on the chronology's page: an image whose markup title reads Tentative setlist submitted to CBS; one titled Ticket; one titled Backstage pass and eight whose titles name the band or its members, three of these titled Backstage with Keith Richards among the names, all nine before a credit; and two untitled files under the chronology's remaster series, a zip archive and a text file. Who is pictured is the chronology's identification in its markup. In one folder for the night, the house holds two text files, a remaster series information file and its fingerprint list. The information file describes a mix of three sources, two chains ending in DAT and CDR and a promo CD, with a cut after "Even Flow" and a glitch in "Oceans" patched from the second. It says the second and third sources were speed-corrected to the first, lists thirteen tracks from "Wash," marked as the fast version, to "Porch," and dates its compilation January 2022. New York comes down to one venue in two city forms, two attendances, one marked sold out, one supporting line, eleven songs alike before two endings, notes agreeing on a fast "Wash," a rare "Dirty Frank" and Keith's encore, thirteen objects and a folder of house files.
