First of Four in Italy
Five Horizons says the band was poorly received at the shows it played as U2's opening act, and that the crowd was not into it. The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology marks the night sold out.

On Friday, July 2, 1993, Pearl Jam played the Stadio Bentegodi in Verona, which both chronologies head by that name. The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's attendance line reads 45 000 (sold out), Five Horizons prints no attendance at all, and both print a supporting line naming U2. Their lists agree on ten songs in one order, opening with "Even Flow" and closing with "Porch," with no encore in either. The two notes speak of different things: the chronology's calls the night the first of four shows in Italy, with U2 as headliner, and Five Horizons' tells how the band was received.
The show
The Stadio Bentegodi
Both chronologies name the venue Stadio Bentegodi and the city Verona, and Five Horizons brackets 45m after its heading without stating what it measures. An opening-act line naming An Emotional Fish stands in the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's entry and not in Five Horizons', whose entry names no act but U2. Neither chronology's entry prints a capacity, a show time or a ticket price.
The Performance
Both chronologies run "Even Flow," "Animal," "Go," "Rearviewmirror," "Elderly Woman," "Why Go," "Jeremy," "Black," "Alive" and "Porch," the chronology printing an ellipsis after "Elderly Woman" and Five Horizons none. Five Horizons' note says the band was poorly received at the shows it played as U2's opening act, and that the crowd was not into the band and wanted U2. The chronology's note says nothing of how the band was received, as Five Horizons' says nothing of four shows in Italy.
The Next Step
Helsinki, two nights before, is told in A Voice in Trouble in Helsinki; neither chronology prints a heading for July 1. Both chronologies put the next show the following night, July 3, again at the Stadio Bentegodi in Verona; it is told in Duct Tape and a Devil Mask.

What the Record Preserves
One object hangs with the night's entry on the chronology's page, an image whose markup title is Ticket. The house holds one text file for the night, a ConcertInfo information file. Its first line is Five Horizons' heading, 45m included, and its note is Five Horizons' word for word, one source with it. Its ten numbered items keep both chronologies' order, the fifth in a longer form of "Elderly Woman" and the tenth, "Porch," with a remark that its end is snipped. It calls the recording complete but for the part of "Porch" it lacks, measured against Five Horizons' setlist and information, a claim about the recording, not the concert, and adds that Five Horizons' setlist differs slightly from its own without saying where. The file dates the concert's digitizing and clean-up to 4/6/00 and names no source, equipment or lineage. The first Verona night comes down to one stadium named alike in both chronologies, an attendance that of the two only the chronology prints, ten songs in one order, two notes on different matters, one ticket image and an information file that repeats Five Horizons.
