Eddie Joins the Frogs in Milwaukee
The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's note says Eddie surprised the audience by singing one song with the Frogs in their set, unrecognized at first, and Five Horizons' note tells the same of him. Both notes call "Act Of Love" a surprising opener, extremely hard and driven, and both say Chad joined Pearl Jam for a "Little Wing" of about eight minutes.

On Sunday, July 9, 1995, Pearl Jam played a second night at the Marcus Amphitheater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the headings of both chronologies again carry the word Summerfest. As on July 8, the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology gives an attendance of 24 000 with the show marked sold out, and Five Horizons gives 24,000 with no status. The two bill lines also match the night before, the chronology's opening acts line naming Bad Religion, then The Frogs, and Five Horizons' support act line The Frogs and Bad Religion. The chronology prints twenty entries in its setlist and four in its encore, twenty-four in all, while Five Horizons gives twenty-two on its set line and four on its encore line, twenty-six in all. Both notes open with a verdict of their own: if one show could stand apart from the previous night and outdo it, this was the one.
The show
Summerfest Again
As on July 8, both chronologies head the show at the Marcus Amphitheater in Milwaukee, WI: the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology adds USA and closes its heading with Summerfest in parentheses, and Five Horizons opens its heading with Summerfest. The house's information file again gives Marcus Amphitheater, Milwaukee, WI on its third line. Five Horizons' heading again runs over two lines and brackets 120m at the end of the second without stating what it measures, and the chronology's heading carries no figure. Neither chronology's entry gives a capacity, a door or stage time, a ticket price, or a promoter.
The Performance
The chronology's setlist runs "Act Of Love," "Go," "Last Exit," "Spin The Black Circle," "Tremor Christ," "Corduroy," "Not For You," "Why Go," "Deep," "Daughter," "Jeremy," "Rearviewmirror," "Elderly Woman," "Lukin," "Animal," "Dissident," "Even Flow," "Black," "Alive," and "Blood." Its encore holds "Starboy," which it follows with the words Eddie with Jimmy Flemion in parentheses, then "Little Wing," which it prints in parentheses, "Better Man," and "Porch." Five Horizons' set line gives twenty-two entries: it opens with "I Only Play for Money," follows the chronology's order from "Act of Love" to "Why Go," prints a "Jeremy" before "Deep" and another, marked new, after "Daughter," and from "Rearviewmirror" to "Blood" follows the chronology's order again. Its encore line holds "Star Boy," "Little Wing," "Better Man," and "Porch." The two chronologies print these entries in different forms: "Starboy" in the chronology and "Star Boy" in Five Horizons, "Elderly Woman" with three dots after it in the chronology and without them in Five Horizons, and "Little Wing" in parentheses in the chronology and without them in Five Horizons. The chronology's note says Eddie gave the audience a surprise by taking part in one song of the Frogs' set, wearing a wig and sunglasses with a shiny silver jacket, and that no one knew him until he started singing, and Five Horizons' note says the same of him. Five Horizons' note names that song "I Only Play for Money," the first entry of its set line. Both notes call "Act Of Love" a surprising song to open with and describe it as extremely hard and driven. The chronology's note says that after "Deep" the band began the introduction of what it marks as the original version of "Jeremy," that Eddie stopped it, and that the band played the song in its slow version a few songs later. Both notes speak of lots of long jams, in their word, that show off what Mike can do. For the encore, both notes say, Chad, whom the chronology's note describes in parentheses as the Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer and Five Horizons' note as RHCP's drummer, joined Pearl Jam for a version of "Little Wing" that they call fascinating, a jam of about eight minutes. The chronology's note calls the song the Jimi Hendrix classic, and Five Horizons' note calls it the Hendrix classic. Both notes say Mike's guitar playing in that jam left the crowd awestruck, and apparently the other members of the band as well. In return for Eddie's turn in the Frogs' set, both notes say, a member of the Frogs, Jimmy Flemion in the chronology and Jimmy in Five Horizons, played along with Eddie in the encore's acoustic "Starboy," the "Star Boy" of Five Horizons. Both notes close with a report they do not source: Mike was hospitalized, in their word, once both Milwaukee shows were over, and the reason they give, in their words, is dehydration and exhaustion.
The Next Step
Milwaukee, the night before, at the same amphitheater, is told in Lightning & Thunder in Milwaukee. Both chronologies put the next show two days later, on July 11, at Soldier Field in Chicago; it is told in Brendan O'Brien at Soldier Field.

What the Record Preserves
The chronology's entry again ends with a remaster series line that names the band, the date and Milwaukee and carries the label info-file. Five Horizons' entry again closes with short lines that read as link labels of its page, from setlist scan to Radio link. Six objects hang under the night's heading on the chronology's page: an image whose markup title reads Setlist; one whose markup title reads Ticket; and four untitled ones, a link to a PDF file, an image, and two links into the chronology's remaster series. The house holds four files for the night: the remaster series' information file and its fingerprint list, each in two identical copies. The information file opens with three lines naming the band, the date and the amphitheater with its city and state. Its source field gives a source that starts from Core Sounds and ends with a Sony TCD-D7, and its lineage line starts from DAT and ends in FLAC files. The file's notes list the smoothing of fluctuations in volume, equalizing for tonal balance, and a boost in volume. The information file's numbered labels open with "Act of Love" and follow the chronology's setlist order to "Blood," with "Jeremy" marked new and "Elderly Woman" given in full as "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town"; the encore's labels follow, from "Star Boy" to "Porch," and the list closes, set apart, with a label for the song that Five Horizons' set line puts first. The fingerprint list gives each FLAC file name a value; its names follow the labels, and its thirteenth reads Elderly Woman. The information file and the fingerprint list name no recordist and give no generation for the DAT and no length for the recording. Milwaukee on July 9 comes down to the same amphitheater and Summerfest in both headings again, 120m that Five Horizons brackets without saying what it measures, an attendance of 24 000 in the chronology and 24,000 in Five Horizons, two acts in two orders, twenty-four entries against twenty-six, two notes that share Eddie's turn with the Frogs and Chad on "Little Wing," six objects, and four house files.
