Opening with Sometimes in San Sebastian
Both chronologies open the San Sebastian set with "Sometimes" and follow it with "Animal." Both close the night with "Yellow Ledbetter," a second encore of one entry in each.

On Friday, November 22, 1996, Pearl Jam played in San Sebastian, Spain, at the venue that the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology heads as the Velódromo de Anoeta and Five Horizons as the Anoeta Velodrome. The chronology gives an attendance of 9 500 and marks the show sold out, and Five Horizons gives 17,000. The chronology's opening act line names Fastbacks, and Five Horizons' support act line names The Fastbacks. Both chronologies give the same twenty-one entries in one order in the main set, then a first encore of four and a second of one.
The show
The Venue in San Sebastian
Both headings give the place as San Sebastian, Spain. Five Horizons brackets 120m after its heading without stating what it measures.
The Performance
The chronology's setlist runs "Sometimes," "Animal," "Last Exit," "Spin The Black Circle," "Hail Hail," "Dissident," "Who You Are," "Corduroy," "Better Man," "Whipping," "I Got Id," "Even Flow," "Daughter," "Jeremy," "Footsteps," "Red Mosquito," "Lukin," "Habit," "Rearviewmirror," "Immortality," and "Alive." Its first encore holds "Go," "State Of Love And Trust," "Black," and "Porch," and its second "Yellow Ledbetter." Five Horizons gives the same twenty-one entries in the same order on its set line, the same four on its enc 1 line, and the same one on its enc 2 line. Both notes call the start of the night truly electrifying, with "Sometimes" first, which they call sweet, and then "Animal," which they call hard. Both notes describe what they call the singer's antics: he skateboarded across the stage before "Go," and during "Porch" he climbed the speakers, threw the microphone over the lights, and hung. The chronology's note says that between those two moments Mike stopped "State Of Love And Trust" and had it begun again.
The Next Step
Barcelona, the night before, is told in Parting Ways at the Barcelona Soundcheck. Both chronologies put the next show two days later, on November 24, in Portugal; it is told in A Chant Turned into a Jam in Cascais.

What the Record Preserves
Five Horizons' entry closes with three short lines that read as link labels of its page: autographed ticket, handbill, and review. Under the night's heading the chronology's page hangs an image whose markup title reads Ticket and one more image. San Sebastian on November 22 comes down to one venue under two names, 120m that Five Horizons brackets without saying what it measures, an attendance of 9 500 in the chronology, marked sold out, and 17,000 in Five Horizons, one act on both bill lines, twenty-six entries in one order in both chronologies, a set that both open with "Sometimes," and the objects under the date.
