The First of Four Shows with the Rolling Stones
Both notes call the Oakland night the first of four shows, an unusual run, with Pearl Jam the opening act for The Rolling Stones. They close by calling the sound system good and saying the band played wonderfully, with Eddie's voice sounding great.

On Friday, November 14, 1997, Pearl Jam played Oakland Stadium in Oakland, a venue both chronologies name alike. Both chronologies print a supporting line that names The Rolling Stones. The chronology prints a setlist of fourteen entries.
The show
Oakland Stadium
Both headings give the place as Oakland, CA, and the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's heading adds USA to it. Five Horizons brackets 60m after its heading without stating what it measures. The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology gives an attendance of 60 000 and marks the show sold out. Both notes open by calling the night the first of four shows, an unusual run, with Pearl Jam the opening act for The Rolling Stones.
The Performance
The chronology's setlist runs "Hail Hail," "Animal," "Dissident," "Even Flow," "Jeremy," "Last Exit," "Given To Fly," "Daughter," "Corduroy," "Wishlist," "Better Man," "State Of Love And Trust," "Do The Evolution," and "Black." Five Horizons' set line follows the same order. Both notes say the band seemed really nervous and was slow to loosen up. Both notes say that after "Better Man" the band did a funny bit: Eddie gazed across the crowd, turned to Mike and pointed at him, and joked about Mike's old habit of counting every groove on his vinyl records. Both notes close on the sound: the sound system was good, the band played wonderfully and was very pumped, and Eddie's voice sounded great.
The Next Step
Santa Cruz, two days earlier, is told in A Sold-Out Night at The Catalyst. Both chronologies put the next show the following night, November 15, again at Oakland Stadium; it is told in From Long Road to Yellow Ledbetter in Oakland.

What the Record Preserves
Five Horizons' entry closes with three short lines that read as link labels of its page: a line that names "Given to Fly" and adds 5h Song X for February in parentheses, then review and poster. Under the night's heading the chronology's page hangs sixteen objects: two images whose markup titles read Ad, one whose markup title reads Ticket, two whose markup titles read Eddie Vedder & Stone Gossard, one whose markup title reads Jeff Ament, Jack Irons & Eddie Vedder, seven more images, and three links to PDF files. Oakland Stadium on November 14 comes down to one venue named alike, 60m that Five Horizons brackets without saying what it measures, an attendance of 60 000 in the chronology, The Rolling Stones on both supporting lines, a setlist of fourteen in the chronology, two notes that tell of nerves, of a funny bit, and of a good sound, and sixteen objects under the date.
