Shudder to Think's Singer Helps Out in Melbourne
Both notes say Shudder to Think's lead singer helped out on the vocals of "Do The Evolution." The chronology's page hangs seven objects under the date, one of them an image whose markup title reads Setlist.

On Monday, March 2, 1998, Pearl Jam played Melbourne Park in Melbourne, a venue both chronologies name alike. Shudder to Think is the act on the chronology's opening act line and on Five Horizons' support act line. The chronology prints a setlist of nineteen entries and two encores of three and one, and Five Horizons' set line and two encore lines give nineteen, three, and one in the same order.
The show
Melbourne Park
Both headings place the venue in Melbourne, Australia. Five Horizons brackets 110m after its heading without stating what it measures.
The Performance
The chronology's setlist runs "Long Road," "Do The Evolution," "Animal," "Hail Hail," "Dissident," "Even Flow," "Faithfull," "MFC," "Corduroy," "Wishlist," "Jeremy," "Daughter," "Given To Fly," "Last Exit," "Off He Goes," "Rearviewmirror," "Not For You," "Black," and "Alive," and Five Horizons' set line gives nineteen entries in the same order. The chronology's first encore holds "Brain Of J.," "Better Man," and "Smile," and its second "Rockin' In The Free World," and Five Horizons' two encore lines give the same three and one in the same order.
Both notes find the night's setlist a crowd pleaser and say that stagediving, which they say is rare in Australia these days, came during "Corduroy" and again during "Jeremy." Both notes say Shudder to Think's lead singer helped out on the vocals of "Do The Evolution." During "Alive," both notes say, the audience did the singing in place of Eddie, and he brought a fan up onto the stage out of a pit they call intense. He and the fan danced, and Eddie handed the fan what the notes take for his own stage pass, though Five Horizons, in parentheses, wonders if it might have been a pick instead. The fan thanked the whole band, kissing Mike on the cheek, and thrust the stage pass at the security people's faces before going off the stage, both notes say.

What the Record Preserves
The chronology's entry ends with a remaster series line that names the band, the date, and Melbourne and carries the label info-file. Under the night's heading the chronology's page hangs seven objects: an image whose markup title reads Setlist, three more images, a link to a PDF file, and two links into its remaster series, one to a zip file and one to a text file. The house holds four files for the night, in two folders, each holding the remaster series' information file and its fingerprint list, and the second folder's two files are byte for byte the first's. The information file opens with three lines that name the band, the date, and the venue with its city and country. Its lineage line starts and ends with FLAC, and its notes, the file's own statement about processing, say that volume fluctuations were smoothed, the volume boosted, and many of the loud claps taken out. Its twenty-six numbered labels, in three groups, run from an Intro label to "Rockin' in the Free World," and the fingerprint list gives a value to each of twenty-six FLAC file names that follow those labels number by number. Melbourne on March 2 comes down to Melbourne Park in both headings, 110m that Five Horizons brackets without saying what it measures, Shudder to Think on both bill lines, nineteen set entries and two encores in one order in both chronologies, help with "Do The Evolution" on vocals from Shudder to Think's lead singer in both notes, seven objects under the date, and four house files in two folders.
