A Third Melbourne Night on the Radio
Both chronologies' notes say this third Melbourne show went out on the radio across Australia and live on the internet, and Five Horizons' note says some guitar chords led into a "Corduroy" it calls wonderful. The house holds four text files for the night, a remaster series information file that calls itself version 2 and its fingerprint list in each of two folders.

On Thursday, March 5, 1998, Pearl Jam played Melbourne Park in Melbourne, which both chronologies head by that name. Shudder to Think stands on the chronology's opening act line and on Five Horizons' support act line. The chronology's main list opens with "Release" and "Brain Of J." and closes with "Do The Evolution" and "Alive," and both chronologies give the same two encores in one order, the first of four entries and the second of two. Both notes call this third Melbourne show tremendous.
The show
A Figure in the Heading
Five Horizons brackets 120m after its heading without stating what it measures. Its heading gives the date as 03/05/98 and the place as Melbourne, Australia, and the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's gives March 5, 1998, with the same venue and place.
The Performance
The chronology's setlist runs from "Release" to "Alive," and its entries include, in order, "Brain Of J.," "Animal," "Faithfull," "In My Tree," "Corduroy," "Wishlist," "Even Flow," "Spin The Black Circle," "Daughter," "Given To Fly," "Hail Hail," "MFC," "Elderly Woman...," "Off He Goes," "State Of Love And Trust" and "Do The Evolution." Five Horizons gives the main set on a set line. Both chronologies give the same two encores in the same order, the first "Go," "Black," "Rearviewmirror" and "Immortality," and the second "Indifference" and "Porch."
Both notes say radio carried the show across Australia and the internet carried it live. Second or third nights, they say, are usually the better shows, and this third one in Melbourne they call tremendous. Five Horizons' note says some guitar chords led into a version of "Corduroy" that it calls wonderful, with a little stop-start passage near its end. It says the singer's baritone came through wonderfully on "Wishlist," and that one of its lines was changed. It calls "Even Flow" awesome again, with Mike's soloing much extended. It says "Porch" began slowly and later sped up, rocking out in its familiar way.
The Next Step
Melbourne Park two nights earlier, on March 3, is told in A Stool and a Spotlight at Melbourne Park. Thebarton Oval in Adelaide, two nights later, on March 7, is told in The Singer on Drums at Thebarton Oval.

What the Record Preserves
The chronology's entry ends with a line for its remaster series that names the band, the date and Melbourne and marks the night v2, and Five Horizons' entry closes with two short lines that read as link labels of its page: review, then tour poster. The objects the chronology's page hangs under the night's heading include images whose markup titles read Setlist (signed) and Ticket, a further image and two untitled links into its remaster series. The house holds four text files for the night, in two folders that each hold the same pair: the remaster series' information file and its fingerprint list. The information file's lineage line starts and ends at FLAC, its one source line names a Sony promo CD, and the file opens with three lines giving the band, the date and Melbourne Park with the city and country. Its notes speak of EQ to improve the tonal balance and call this version 2, the one with the tonal balance improved. Its numbered labels fall into three groups, the second and the third each opening with a label for an encore break. Its fingerprint list names a file for each label, with "Hail Hail" for the label's "Hail, Hail" and a shorter "Elderly Woman" for the full title of the seventeenth. March 5 at Melbourne Park comes down to a venue both chronologies head alike, a bracketed figure, one act on both bill lines, the same two encores in both, notes that both tell of a broadcast across Australia and a tremendous third Melbourne show, images titled Setlist (signed) and Ticket among the objects, and four house files of a version 2 in two folders that match.
