Mike Joins Goodness in Missoula
Both chronologies' notes say Mike joined Goodness on stage and played with them before Pearl Jam's set.

On Saturday, June 20, 1998, Pearl Jam played the Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, which both chronologies head by that name. The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's attendance line reads 22 000, marked sold out, and Five Horizons' reads 22,000. Goodness is the act on both bill lines, the chronology's opening act line and Five Horizons' support act line. Both chronologies give the same four entries for the first encore, from "Better Man" to "Once," and the same second encore, "Yellow Ledbetter."

Five Horizons brackets 110m after its heading without stating what it measures. Its heading gives the date as 06/20/98 and the place as Missoula, MT, and the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's gives June 20, 1998, and Missoula, MT, USA.
The Performance
The chronology's soundcheck line gives ten entries, "Off He Goes," "Hail Hail," "Faithfull," "Present Tense," "In Hiding," "Better Man," "Pilate," "Yellow Ledbetter," "MFC" and "Jeremy." Five Horizons' soundcheck line gives, in order, "Off He Goes," "Hail Hail," "Faithfull," "Present Tense," "In Hiding," "Better Man," "Pilate," "Yellow Ledbetter," "MFC" and "Jeremy." The chronology's setlist runs from "Corduroy" to "Alive," and its entries include, in order, "Animal," "Hail Hail," "Brain Of J.," "In Hiding," "Jeremy," "Do The Evolution," "Pilate," "Even Flow," "Daughter," "MFC," "Wishlist," "Present Tense," "Habit," "Given To Fly" and "Immortality." Five Horizons' set line gives, in order, "Corduroy," "Animal," "Hail Hail," "Brain of J," "In Hiding," "Jeremy," "Do the Evolution," "Pilate," "Even Flow," "Daughter," "MFC," "Wishlist," "Present Tense," "Habit," "Given to Fly," "Immortality" and "Alive." Both chronologies give the same four entries for the first encore, in the same order, "Better Man," "Black," "State of Love and Trust" and "Once," and the same second encore, "Yellow Ledbetter." Both notes say Mike joined Goodness on stage and played with them before Pearl Jam's set. The chronology's note says the show was sold out inside a week, its audience the biggest any concert in the state had drawn, and that scalped tickets, first sold at $25, went for as much as $30. Half an hour into the set, it says, young men threw themselves across the floor and over the rails into the thick crowd so as to evade the security guards, while cheers swelled, in its word, from the stands. Both notes call "Pilate" rarely played, and the chronology's calls it a new song by Jeff. Both notes praise "MFC." As the first encore began, both notes say, the singer invited onto the stage a fan who had brought a sign asking for "Better Man," and there the fan proposed to his girlfriend before the band played the song. The chronology's note says he took out a ring and asked her to marry him, and that the singer wished the two of them good luck. As the second encore began, both notes say, Jeff thanked the promoter and his own mom and dad, after which the singer thanked Matt for drumming. Five Horizons says this "Yellow Ledbetter" was much like a version from the year before, and it says Mike was on, in its phrase, and that Matt excelled.
The Next Step
Washington, six days earlier, on June 14, is told in The Tibetan Freedom Concert at RFK Stadium. Both chronologies put the next show the following night, June 21, at The Canyons; it is told in Talk of the Jazz/Bulls Games at The Canyons.

What the Record Preserves
Ten objects hang under the night's heading on the chronology's page: an image whose markup title reads Ad, two untitled links to PDF files, two untitled images and five more images. The house holds four text files for the night: in each of two folders, a file list and a metadata file, the second folder's two files identical to the first's. The metadata file gives Pearl Jam as the creator, 1998-06-20 as the date, audio as the media type and 1998 as the year. The file list gives twenty-two titles in order, from "Corduroy" to "Yellow Ledbetter," with Pearl Jam as the artist of each. June 20 in Missoula comes down to one stadium both chronologies head alike, a bracketed figure, an attendance on which both agree, Goodness on both bill lines with Mike joining them, main lists that run from "Corduroy" to "Alive," the same two encores in both, notes that call "Pilate" rarely played and praise "MFC," ten objects and four house files.
