Baba O'Riley Brings the House Down in Vancouver
Both chronologies' notes say the band were about to leave after "Yellow Ledbetter" when Eddie asked the others whether they felt like one more and picked up a tambourine, after which "Baba O'Riley" brought the house down. The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology gives an attendance of 16 000 and marks the show sold out, and Five Horizons gives 14,000-15,000.

On Sunday, July 19, 1998, Pearl Jam played the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, which the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology places in BC, Canada, and Five Horizons in British Columbia. Both chronologies name Frank Black, the chronology as the opening act and Five Horizons as the support act. The two chronologies give the same soundcheck, set and encore entries in the same order, the set opening with "Sometimes" and "Go" and closing with "Rearviewmirror," "Black" and "Last Exit."
The show
BC or British Columbia
The two headings give the night as July 19, 1998, the Pacific Coliseum and Vancouver, BC, Canada, in the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology, and as 07/19/98, the Pacific Coliseum and Vancouver, British Columbia, in Five Horizons. Five Horizons brackets 113m after its heading without stating what it measures. The chronology's attendance line prints 16 000 and marks the show sold out, and Five Horizons' prints 14,000-15,000. Both notes find the band relaxed and playing well, and the crowd a little too sedate, in their words.
The Performance
Both soundcheck lines give six entries in one order, which the chronology prints as "Not For You," "MFC," "Off He Goes," "Last Kiss," "I Got You" and "Hail Hail." Between their opening and closing songs, both set lines include "Dissident," "Corduroy," "MFC," "Lukin," "Wishlist," "Jeremy," "Off He Goes" and "Better Man," in that order. The chronology's first encore gives "Do The Evolution," "Nothingman," "Alive" and "Leaving Here," and Five Horizons' gives the same four in the same order. Both second encores give "Yellow Ledbetter" and then "Baba O'Riley," an entry Five Horizons prints as "BABA O'RILEY!!!!"
With "Last Exit," both notes say, the set was cut short, and Eddie urged the crowd on with lunges toward it. With "Do The Evolution," which they call incredibly intense, all this changed, they say. During "Alive," the notes say, Eddie walked the stage and applauded the kids who were dancing at the back, in the empty seats, then climbed into the crowd, where he stayed more than a few minutes. Back for "Yellow Ledbetter," the band were about to leave, they say, when Eddie went over to the others and asked whether they felt like one more; he picked up a tambourine; then "Baba O'Riley" brought the house down.
The Next Step
The night before, July 18, in Portland, is told in Matching Jumps at the Rose Garden Arena.

What the Record Preserves
Five objects hang under the night's heading on the chronology's page: three images and two untitled links to PDFs. July 19 in Vancouver comes down to one venue placed in BC and in British Columbia, two attendance figures, Frank Black on both bills, the same soundcheck, set and encores in both chronologies, a crowd the notes find sedate until "Do The Evolution," a tambourine for "Baba O'Riley" and five objects.
