A Stand-Up Bass for Yellow Ledbetter
Both chronologies' notes say the stand-up bass came out for "Yellow Ledbetter," which both set fields list last, and that Mike played a great solo, as usual. The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's note has Eddie going along the rear of the stage to greet the Bridge School students there.

On Saturday, October 30, 1999, Pearl Jam played the Shoreline Amphitheatre, as the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology names the venue. Both headings close with two descriptors in parentheses, Bridge School Benefit and acoustic, the chronology setting the second with a capital. Both set fields run in the same order from "Soldier of Love" to "Yellow Ledbetter." Both notes close the night with the whole band back for a final jam.
The show
A Benefit Night in Mountain View
The Pearl Jam Concert Chronology heads the night October 30, 1999, and Five Horizons 10/30/99. The two headings give the place as Mountain View, CA, USA, in the chronology and Mountain View, CA, in Five Horizons. Five Horizons brackets 31m after its heading without stating what it measures. The chronology's note says rabid applause met the band as it took the stage, and that Eddie went along the rear of the stage to greet the Bridge School students seated there. In an aside, the note reports that Eddie had turned from blonde to something nearer a washed-out brown, while Mike had gone back to spiky blonde.
The Performance
The chronology's soundcheck field lists eight songs: "Wishlist," "Thin Air," "Daughter," "Nothing As It Seems," "Soldier Of Love," "In Hiding," "Last Kiss," and "Elderly Woman," which it follows with three dots. Five Horizons' soundcheck field includes them in the same order. Both set fields include, in order, "Soldier of Love," "Wishlist," "Elderly Woman," "Footsteps," "Last Kiss," and "Yellow Ledbetter."
The chronology's note calls the opening "Soldier Of Love" solid and the "Wishlist" that followed it nicely done. As the band started "Elderly Woman," the note says, Eddie gestured northward, and Matt played bongos to give the song a different feel. Both notes picture Eddie with his eyes closed, Stone looking down, and Jeff wearing a fuzzy hat. "Footsteps" came next, the chronology's note says, opening with a bluesy harmonica solo, and the note calls the song hauntingly beautiful. Both notes go on to call Mike's solo eerily echoey, sparse, and spacy. Both notes call "Last Kiss" bearable and say it brought the crowd to its feet, dancing and singing. For "Yellow Ledbetter," both notes say, the stand-up bass came out, and Mike played a great solo, as usual. When the night ended, both notes say, the whole band came back for a final jam, Eddie singing a few verses while Matt played drums at the back.
The Next Step
October 10, 1998, 385 days earlier, is told in A Rumor Comes True at the Crocodile Cafe. Both chronologies put the next show the following night, October 31; it is told in A Silver Mask and a Turkey Hat.

What the Record Preserves
Nine images hang under the night's heading on the Pearl Jam Concert Chronology's page, among them ones whose markup titles read Poster, Ad, Program, and Ticket. The night comes down to two headings that call it the Bridge School Benefit and acoustic, a soundcheck and a set that the two chronologies give in one order, two notes that end on a final jam, and nine images under the date.
